The Hope Initiative Alliance (HIA) extends its heartfelt wishes to Madam Halimah Yacob, who is stepping down from her role as the President of Singapore.
Madam Halimah's presidency, which began on the 14th of September 2017, has been a continuous source of inspiration and pride for all Singaporeans. Over six years, she exhibited exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and a profound commitment to the well-being of our nation and its citizens.
Rev. Ezekiel Tan, President of HIA, remarked, "During Madam Halimah Yacob's presidency, HIA had the distinct honour of receiving two prestigious awards: the President's Volunteerism and Philanthropy Award (PVPA) - Organization of Good in 2020 and the National Awards (COVID-19) in 2023. In addition to these accolades, two of our management members received similar recognition. In 2020, Rev. Samuel Gift Stephen received the PVPA 2020 Special Edition Leader of Good Special Commendation Award, and in 2021, Nazhath Faheema received the PVPA People of Good Award."
We cannot express enough the pride we feel in being recognised by Madam Halimah Yacob, who has dedicated herself to the community through her public service, serving as a tremendous source of inspiration for many of us involved in charitable work. We will cherish this recognition and continue our unwavering commitment to the betterment of society."
While this chapter of Madam Halimah's public service may be drawing to a close, we are confident that she will continue to impact wherever her path leads positively.
We sincerely thank Madam Halimah Yacob for her extraordinary service to our nation. Singapore has been privileged to have her as our President and her legacy will forever be etched in our hearts.
